Ten things to notice when establishing a Center of Excellence in cybercrime

In the context of the first annual conference of SENTER (The European Network of the Centers of Excellence in Cybercrime http://senter-project.eu/) the partners put together the ten most important things to notice when establishing a new Center of Excellence in Cybercrime. This is what they had to say:

  1. Ensure cooperation with Law Enforcement Agencies
  2. Secure funding: Explore both national sources of funding as well as European ones.
  3. Make sure you have access to experts: both in the technical and in the policy fields
  4. Give a Leadership Role to Academia: Universities and Research Centers
  5. Secure the support of Decision Makers
  6. Involve all stakeholders in the area
  7. Make sure you have enough resources (people and funds)
  8. Form working groups of experts and produce tangible results
  9. Deliver
  10. Be visible!
